Last month it was reported that Apple is working on launching a ‘Pro’ variant of the
next year and now renowned Apple ‘tipster’ former KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo has suggested that the company will launch it in the first half of 2020. According to a research note with investor firm TF International Securities (via MacRumors), Kuo has suggested that the alleged Apple
will come with “3D sensing through the rear-facing camera system.” For this, Apple is rumoured to equip time-of-flight system that “measures the time that it takes for light to bounce off of objects in a room to generate a 3D map.”
Something similar was suggested in a report from the Korean website called The Elec that states that Apple may refresh its iPad Pro series in March 2020. The new tablet may feature 3D sensing rear cameras. The report adds that LG will be responsible for supplying the ToF (time-of-flight) sensors.
Besides the iPad Pro, Kuo has also reaffirmed his earlier prediction about the
2. Last month it was also reported that Apple is working on launching the successor to
SE in the first half of next year. Kuo gave a bit more clarity on the date of the launch and suggested that the iPhone SE 2 (name unconfirmed) will be launched at the end of March next year. According to a report by MacRumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant is scheduled to start mass production of this iPhone in January 2020.
Notably, Apple iPhone SE that was launched in 2016 was launched on March 21, pre-orders of the handset began March 24 and it went on sale starting March 31. Then in March 2017, Apple re-launched the handset in larger storage models.
Recently, he has also said that Apple will likely sell around 10% more iPhones in H1 2020 because of the ‘iPhone SE 2’ and the already strong placement of the new Apple iPhone 11.
