Amar Kaushik’s Bala is living the dream run at the box office. The film, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in the lead role, is being loved by audiences and critics alike. Despite the release of a bug budget film, Marjaavaan, Bala is doing great as is evident from its box office collection.
Bala opened with a splendid Rs 10.15 crore on November 8. It went on to make Rs 15.73 crore and Rs 18.07 crore on its opening Saturday and Sunday respectively. The next week was also exciting for the film as it crossed Rs 70-crore mark in its first week of release. However, last Friday was a little disappointing for the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer as it could only earn Rs 3.76 crore. But the box office collection bounced back as Bala minted Rs 6.73 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.01 crore on Sunday. Monday also resulted in a decent day for Bala as it earned Rs 2.25 crore taking the total sum collected by the film till now to Rs 92.99 crore.

Bala is a film based on the life of a young man, played by Ayushmann, suffering from premature balding. In the film, Bhumi Pednekar plays a lawyer who is dark skinned. Yami Gautam is seen in the role of a light-skinned model and ‘Tik-Tok’ sensation whose only achievement in life is her good looks. The film tries to fight the stereotypes attached to beauty in the society.
The film also boasts of a spectacular supporting cast. From the likes of experienced theatre actors like Saurabh Shukla, Seema Pahwa and Sunita Rajwar, Bala also sees magnificent performers like Abhishek Banerjee and Jaaved Jaaferi. Each character in the film is written with a unique flavour, which is being like by the audience. Set in the tier-2 cities of Kanpur and Lucknow, Bala beautifully portrays the life and culture of the cities of Uttar Pradesh. Crisp and intelligent writing is the plus-point of the film.
Bala is the seventh continuous hit in Ayushmann Khurrana’s career. After this film, the actor has set another benchmark for himself.
